PCCr-MLC Faculty Geared for Academic Preparedness through the 2010 Faculty Development Program
Last June 17 & 18, 2010, the faculty of PCCr-MLC attended the Faculty Development Program 2010 dubbed as “Enhancing Quality Education Instruction For Sustainable Development” at the JFAB Sports Center and Police Seminar Hall respectively.
This is in line with the school’s new direction as embodied in the Vision-Mission and Core Values. The Office of the President through the Administrative Department designed a Faculty Development Program for the purposes of upgrading and enhancing our teaching force. Through this, it is hoped to attain the school’s Vision to become a world renowned Center of Excellence in Criminal Justice, Law and Cyber Crime Education. Moreover, this program is necessarily connected to the PCCr-MLC’s Mission to provide equitable opportunity to students through TECHNICALLY-COMPETENT and PROFICIENT FACULTY with current and comprehensive instructions in a globally competitive environment. The objectives of the 2010 PCCr-MLC Faculty Development Program that at the end of this two-day seminar, all PCCr-MLC Faculty are expected:
1. To identify and describe various methods and strategies of teaching 2. To choose the best methods and strategies of teachings that suit their personality and their students’ personality, attitude and intellectual capacity. 3. To explain the significance of their role as a teacher/professor to the PCCr-MLC Vision-Mission and Core Values 4. To create and formulate syllabi for the subjects offered in PCCr-MLC, and 5. To discuss new concepts of teaching and leadership.  The two-day event covered discussions and workshops featuring up-to-date and effective Methods and Strategies of Teaching; Standardized Teaching, Syllabi Making; and Teaching and Leadership. Among the speakers were Dr. Mercedes A. Foronda, Dean of Instructions and Accreditation Officer who talked about the PCCr Mission & Vision as well as the PACUCOA Accredidation, Dr. Harry C. Lorenzo Jr., Dean of Graduate School who talked about the PCCr Core Values, Dean Ariel C. Manlusoc, College of Criminology Dean who talked about standardized testing, and Mr. Basilo Amboya of the Department of Languages, Mathematics and Social Sciences who talked about Syllabi-Making. During the last day of the workshop, Prof. Connie Labitan discussed dynamic leadership and methods and strategies of teaching.
