ANTIPOLO CITY, Philippines – In a vibrant display of unity and purpose, employees of the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) came together for a two-day team-building retreat at Phillip’s Sanctuary from August 23 to 24, 2024. Carrying the theme “Commit, Comply, Conserve,” the event combined adventure, reflection, and environmental advocacy in an unforgettable experience.

The program began with icebreakers, including the formation of teams named after exotic Philippine animals and the Team Haka cheer, which engaged participants and set the tone for collaboration. Expanding on the PCCR’s employee guiding principles — originally the 3Cs: Communicate, Change, and Culture — the retreat introduced a new set of Cs: Commit, Comply, and Conserve. These values shaped the structure of the event, giving each day a deeper sense of purpose.

Under “Comply,” participants tackled a series of physical challenges such as a low ropes course, lagoon crossing, and mud crawl — activities that demanded teamwork, communication, and trust.

“Commit” came to life around the evening bonfire, where employees reflected on their roles, their shared mission, and their dedication to the college and each other.

Finally, “Conserve” took center stage through a meaningful environmental segment that included a short film on sustainability and a tree-planting activity — underscoring PCCR’s advocacy for ecological responsibility.

Another key part of the event was the overnight camping experience, where employees worked together to set up tents, share stories, and connect with nature.

More than just a break from routine, the retreat reaffirmed PCCR’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and environmental stewardship. It was a reminder that when values are lived out together, lasting change can take root — on campus and beyond.
