A heartwarming day filled with hope and connection took place when the Master of Science in Criminal Justice Education students from Section 2M-1N02 at the Philippine College of Criminology, in coordination with the Community Extension Services and with the support of the National Service Training Program Department and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Cadet Officers, successfully conducted an outreach program titled “Lingap at Pag-asa.”

During this event, we spent meaningful time with 100 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), sharing stories, smiles, and a sense of hope.
One of the highlights of the day was an inspiring discussion entitled “Exploring Hope through the Story of Barabbas, Paul, and Silas.” This session served as a powerful reminder that change, redemption, and new beginnings are always possible. The “kamustahan” session with the PDLs created a space for connection, healing, and reflection. This experience was more than just a visit; it was a celebration of humanity and second chances.

This significant event was made possible through the unwavering support and compassionate leadership of JSUPT ELLEN B. BARRIOS, DSC, the esteemed Jail Warden of Caloocan City Jail, as well as the guidance and encouragement of Dr. Jezreel B. Vicente, former Dean of the Graduate School of the Philippine College of Criminology. Their commitment to transformative education and community engagement continues to inspire students and communities alike.
